Bringing opera into virtual worlds, for everyone.

VOPUS is a European research project exploring how opera can come alive in virtual worlds, and what that means for culture, community, and wellbeing. At its heart is Operaland, a persistent virtual world where audiences and creators meet to experience and shape opera together.

What is VOPUS?

The Project. Virtual World Opera for Participation, Unity, and Social Cohesion. A three-year investigation into how culture and communities change when people spend time in virtual worlds, with a focus on opera.
